We update the app regularly so we can make it better for you. This week we bring you a completely rewritten browser process management so you can enjoy more stable profile launching and closing, and a brand new experimental feature to help eliminate annoying CAPTCHAs on websites!
The new Kameleo BETA update is available on our website. Read below what is new and how you can download it.
What’s new in Kameleo v1.5.5+ BETA?
In this update, we introduced a feature of how you can turn of Selenium Driver. Until now Kameleo was starting browsers with Selenium Web Driver. The browser was working smooth and your fingerprint could be spoofed easily.
In this update, we added an option to turn of Selenium Web Driver in the Application Settings. By disabling the web driver we expect Kameleo to provide an even more natural browser fingerprint while still spoof it to fully match the selected profile.
Most of the bots that are scraping the web using some kind of solution built on a web driver. To prevent scraping, websites try to block or flag connections made with a web driver. Kameleo was doing everything to prevent it and the feedback from our community was pretty good. Though there are some companies that still have the ability to detect the presence of a web driver.
While you were using other privacy tools you may notice that you faced multiple CAPTCHAs. Even by using Kameleo you had to face it sometimes. This is because it is very difficult to trick Google’s technologies. They can’t tell it 100% sure if you are a bot or a real user they can only make an approximation. To decide if they show you the annoying reCAPTCHAs.
The good news is that we developed a solution that spoofs your browser fingerprint and doesn’t use Selenium Web Driver at all. This way we expect Kameleo to provide a more natural browser fingerprint and this way you will have to face less CAPTCHA.
All you have to do is disable the Selenium Driver in the Application Settings. Then when you launch browser it will provide better browsing experience.
This technology is still experimental. We have plenty of ideas how we can improve it, so if it is not better yet keep waiting. In the next updates we will improve Kameleo’s spoofing technology even more.
Please provide us some feedback in support tickets, so we can understand better how successful this feature is. We would like to know which method
resulted better success rate during your work. The question is enable or disable Web Driver?
Features of Kameleo v1.5.5+ BETA
- Optionally disable Selenium Driver: Disable the Selenium Driver in the application settings to get a more natural browser fingerprint to prevent CAPTCHA.
- Fixes: Starting and stopping the browser became faster and more reliable.
What is the Kameleo Beta?
Developing a browser fingerprint spoofing tool like Kameleo is a hard business. We are facing difficult obstacles while we are fighting for online privacy. It usually takes long time to publish a fully functioning stable version of Kameleo. To keep the technical enthusiastic members of our community up to date we decided to publish our dev branch.
This way you will be able to download a Beta version of Kameleo more often. We will always notify you here when a new beta version is available. We only publish a Kameleo Beta version when we find it stable enough for operation but not ready for a full release.
We call Kameleo Beta the latest version. You can refer to it with a ‘+’ sign like: Kameleo v1.5.2+ BETA. It means the Beta version after Kameleo v1.5.2.
What we expect
We expect our community to try out the latest version of Kameleo and provide us some feedback in support tickets.
We hope that every BETA will be useful but we cannot guarantee that your work will be glitchless with it.
